I remember sitting in PCMC next to Preslee, when a package arrived. I was surprised to find a blanket for Preslee sent from my friend Tiffany at Tiny Seamstress Designs. Support goes such a long ways when you find yourself in a difficult situation. When I learned about the shooting in CT last week, my heart sank, thinking about how the most difficult year(s) lay ahead of these poor families. I knew I wanted to help in some way.

I visited Tiffany’s blog today, and wanted to share. She’s put together an auction on her blog for The Emilie Parker Fund, for the beautiful girl above who lost her life at Sandy Hook Elementary last Friday. This fund was originally established to just help Emilie's family, but her family has decided to divide up all the money with each of the families affected by this horrific tragedy.

Funerals are expensive. There is no way we could have afforded what we wanted for Preslee without the many donations you so willingly gave us, and in which we are still so grateful for.

I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to share with all of you, take a look at Tiffany’s blog  for more details.

Our family is still praying for everyone involved.

083griefWe left Idaho early in the morning and drove the 3 1/2 hour drive to SLC, UT.

We checked into our hotel, changed a diaper and drove straight to RC Willey. We made the biggest purchases since we’ve been married, we bought couches! I’m still so excited, and counting down the days until they are delivered. Ledger met Santa for the first time too… Needless to say, he really loved it.

We ate at Tucanos, which was amazing. Tucanos is a Brazilian grill, where they bring grilled meats and vegetables, and don’t forget the pineapple to your table. Last time we went, I was sick and pregnant, and the sight of meat made me want to vomit, so this time around was much much better.

We did a little Christmas shopping at City Creek, a new mall in SLC. It was our first time there, and it’s beautiful. Ledger loved the fountains. We ran into Pat’s Dad and Step mom there.

We visited Temple Square to see the lights. We bought hot chocolate that burnt our tongues and hands, which is part of the experience right? Ledger loved the lights, anytime he gets excited, I get even more excited :) We stopped by Deseret Book, and as we were walking in I literally ran into my Dad. What are the odds? Both my parents, and Pat’s Dad and Stepmom were there to see the Mormon Tabernacle Choir in concert.

Ringing the bell.

Ledge showed dad his sweet swimming moves in the freezing cold pool. Mom was a wimp and took pics from the hot tub.

This definitely is one of the best traditions we’ve started. It gives us something to look forward to each year, rather than dreading Preslee’s Birthday. It gives Pat and I time to talk in the car, reminisce about her, and we can’t wait to teach our kids about the meaning of the Temple in the future.

Happy Birthday Patrick! Birthday’s so close to Christmas seem a little tricky to pull off sometimes. But hopefully he’ll enjoy what we have planned :)

We had a wonderful Christmas, Ledger went crazy over his toys, and hasn’t quit playing with trucks, trains, and Buzz (from Toy Story) since. I’m taking one more day off from blogging, and will be back soon. I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas break as well!

Happy Holidays!

Preslee’s Birthday

I’m a little behind on blogging! So I’ll be playing catch up :)

The 17th was Preslee’s Birthday, and I couldn’t believe we were on our 3rd time around celebrating without her. There were a lot less tears this year. I’m not sure why, but Thanksgiving was by far the hardest day for me rather than her Birthday or Christmas… maybe because it was the start of the Holidays?

Anyway, back to Preslee’s Birthday, while Pat was working, Ledger and I got the RAK cards ready to be delivered. Here are just a few.

We made a stop at the Police Station and Fire Department, both who helped in rescuing Preslee from the canal. The Fire Dept. put on a huge fundraiser for us.

Yes, it was one of those cold days I left Ledger in his PJ’s for the majority of the day :)

Later that evening we attended the Siddoway family Christmas Party. We ate dinner, and then they pulled out a cake with all the December Birthdays. I didn’t expect it to mean so much for people to remember Preslee’s Birthday, but it did. Thank you.

We played Bingo, and once you won, you got to pick a Beanie from Just Sports.

And then my sweet Aunts blew up glow in the dark balloons and we released them. It was super windy, so they flew away faster than I expected.

Thank you to everyone who let us know they were thinking of us, participated in RAK, and who joined us and planned the balloon release. I think the further out we get, the more the texts and calls mean to us.

Happy Birthday Monkey, we miss you.

Well everybody here said you wanted to know more about me so I thought I would give this blogging thing a try. I started showing up here around September 21st

This is the first picture the food lady made of me. I would show up and she would feed me cause I managed to convey the fact I was hungry, but after I ate I would leave, the food lady assumed I was going home. Lots of people let their dogs run loose around here. I didn't have a collar or anything. So for the longest time I would show up once a week to eat and then disappear. Mommy took my picture and asked around to see if anyone knew who I belonged too. She posted my picture in a Mississippi Lost and Found Pets group on Facebook but nobody claimed me. Mommy was really surprised cause I am so sweet and friendly.

Well Nov 23 I showed up and I was really tired and didn't feel good. After I ate I crawled in the dog crate and went to sleep. Mommy ran me up to the Veterinarians so they could check for a microchip. I didn't have one. Mommy also drove around the neighborhood asking people if they recognized me, but no one did. I slept in the garage that night but the next morning when she let me out of the garage I left and when I came back for food Mommy wasn't dressed and I would disappear before she got dressed, she didn't have anywhere to keep me.

So December 10th I showed up twice. The weather was really bad that day and I came back after Mommy got dressed and she ran me back up to the Veterinarians to get me checked out.

Unfortunately I did not get a good report. I have Hookworms and Heartworms. Because of the Hookworms I have to be in isolation until the Hookworms are cleared up. Mommy put Fenris' dog house on the side of the house, so I have somewhere safe and warm to get. The entrance is facing the brick wall so it is very snug and warm, I has food and blankets in there and a bed of my very own that Mommy got me at the store. And I has water sitting outside the door, so if I accidentally turn it over my bedding won't get wet. Mommy was very clever as she put the bowl of water up against the wall so it is nearly impossible to overturn.  I get walked in the front and side yard (where Mommy doesn't take Fenris) frequently. But I really don't like being here all alone. At night Mommy takes me inside and I sleep in a dog crate in the garage.

I will start my second dose of panacur C January 1st for 3 days.
After that Mommy will take me back to the Veterinarian and if I test negative for hookworms I will be able to go in the backyard with Fenris until I start my Heartworm Treatment.

I got all my vaccinations December 10th, I go back December 26th for the Canine H3N8 Booster and two weeks after that I will start my Heartworm  Treatment, so it sounds like I will be visiting the veterinarian often. I have to say that so for this rescued deal hasn't been much fun for me, but I do like getting feed regularly and having somewhere warm and dry to sleep so I guess it's not so bad. Mommy is feeding me Eukanuba Adult Maintenance Small Bite, she thought the picture on the package looked kinda like me.

December 15th, since it was in the 70s here Mommy gave me my first bath. She said I was a very good girl about getting a bath and she was right. The bath did make me stop itching and my furs feel lots softer. She said I looked very pretty after my bath. And I also got my nails trimmed, I was very good about that too, unlike a certain brother who will NOT let anyone including the groomer trim his nails.

If you are interested in having Mommy do a blog makeover for you or having a Facebook header made you can contact her by email  or on Facebook. .

And I want to Thank all of you who have made donations toward my Heartworm treatment. So far $124.78 has been contributed. This is pawsome!!!!!!!   I really appreciate your kindness, I never knew people would be so nice to me. I really likes blogging and having a Facebook Page.  ~Annie Tuiren

Most of you know I enjoy hanging out in the Hummingbird Cottage. It is usually nice, peaceful and safe.................

But sometimes my sanctuary is threatened by...........................

A FedEx deliveryman. Then I has to hide under Daddy's shop.

I thinks the intruder is gone now and I can come back out. For awhile I was getting lots of prizes delivered cause I won The Grand Prize Package in Zee & Zoey's Contest.

Mommy was over the moon when this SpotBot Pet Cleaner from Bissell was delivered. She couldn't wait to try it out on the spots I left on the carpet.

She is very pleased with how well it works.

I was very disappointed to discover the package today wasn't for me. Today is our Youngest Boy Bean's Birthday! and the package was for HIM. Imagine that, a person got a package in the mail instead of one of us cats or even the dogs. ~Scylla
